Regarding building of a cluster...

Dear Users,
This is not really related to FIREFLY, but related to building of a cluster. I wish to now which machine will be faster? A 2.1GHz single core or a cluster with three 700 MHz processor clients?
Has anyone hear of Raspberry Pi (Type B+) mobos? They are pretty cheap (under 60 US dollars) with 512 MB RAM and SDCARD has to be used for HDD purpose.
I hope this research fraternity would participate in this healthy discussion. Any comments, ideas are welcome.Kind Regards,
