MWORDS limits

Hi,
I run PC GAMESS/Firefly on a dual core machine with Windows XP 64bits (but using only 1 cpu) having 1GB of RAM and a pagefile of 4GB. If I set MWORDS to a value grater than 268, I get an error saying that the memory is unavailable. (Under XP 32 bits, I found similar limit, but around 240 MWORDS). I increased also the RAM to 2GB, but I got the same error.What can I do?
