Memory-related question

Dear All, probably is a silly question but anyway...If I run a firefly serial job (on a single core) of my quad-core CPU Workstation using  in the $SYSTEM group MWORDS=512 (about 4 GB) I obtain this indication (when exetyp=check is selected):

512000000 WORDS OF MEMORY UNAVAILABLE

The Workstation (Win XP Pro 64bit is installed) is equipped with 12 GB of DDR3 RAM (and a paging file of 12 GB is used as virtual memory). Unfortunately I can’t run that job with a lesser amount of memory (this indication was directly obtained from firefly output when MWORDS=256 was used).
