One of the problems with this cluster is that it is configured
so that Firefly gets suspended somewhere inside Linux kernel
while trying to allocate memory the OS cannot provide. It would
be way better if OS simply kills it (and thus, this could be
detected by proper MPI software or queue system). The same is
true for local files, which are on the RAM disk - Firefly may
simply get suspended trying to write to the file...

On the other hand, their network-based storage solution
is clearly not efficient enough to be used by any disk-intensive task
