Firefly crashes under Windows 7 but not XP

I have been running Firefly on my Windows XP machine for several years, the latest version being 7.1.G.  I downloaded 7.1.G to my Window 7 laptop and it crashes when I attempt to run it.  Before it crashes the output file is created and then the heading and the input data is written to it.  No error message is generated.

The laptop is an HP-2000 with an AMD E-300 and 4 GB of RAM.

Out of frustration, I tried PCGAMESS (US) and it runs fine under Windows 7.

Is anyone running Windows 7?  Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
